Chinese trains run on international tracks

Low-speed maglev trains that can achieve ‘zero-altitude flight’, trams powered by instant charging, all such super trains come from China’s CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive Co., Ltd. (CRRC ZELC).

CRRC ZELC products have been extremely popular globally, and are currently exported to 102 countries and regions worldwide. Eighty-three percent of the countries and regions which have railway networks use CRRC ZELC services.

CRRC ZELC has realized local manufacturing, sourcing and labour employment in South Africa. It has an ASEAN manufacturing centre in Malaysia as well. Around 30 orders from Singapore, India, South Africa and other countries bring its export volume to some 32 billion yuan. CRRC ZELC has expanded from selling products to exporting products, services, technologies, and capital management.

In May 2016, the Changsha Maglev Express held trial operations, becoming China’s first low-speed maglev with independent IPR.

As three-dimensional traffic will be a trend of China’s future traffic development, CRRC ZELC technology can be also used in Yunnan’s tourist cities Dali and Lijiang.

In addition to the technical docking, there are many opportunities for cooperation in high-speed rail development between Yunnan and CRRC ZELC. In March of this year, the Kunming municipal government signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with CRRC ZELC on rail transportation equipment manufacturing, new energy automobile accessories, stereo garages and sewage treatment.
