3-day ultimatum to arrest killers

Awami League MP Shafiqul Islam Shimul yesterday threatened to paralyse the countrys northern region if the killers of three Juba League men are not arrested within the next three days, reports UNB.
He issued the ultimatum while talking to reporters after attending the namaz-e-janaza of the three victims at Kanaikhali in the district town in the morning.
Shimul also demanded that the government unearth the mystery behind the killings.
On Monday, police recovered the bullet-hit bodies of Redwan Sabbir, 25, a member of Natore municipality unit of Juba League and son of Sona Miah, Abdullah, 25, son of Lutfur Rahman, and Sohel, 26, son of Kalu Miah, from a mango orchard at Raniganj Kalabari in Ghoraghat upazila of Dinajpur district. The latter two were activists of the ruling partys associate youth wing.
Hamidul Alam, superintendent of Dinajpur Police, said some miscreants allegedly picked the three young men up in a microbus on Saturday and went to an unknown destination. A general diary was lodged with Natore Police Station in this connection, he said.
Police suspected that miscreants might have killed them over previous enmity, said the SP. Rukhsana Bewa, mother of Sabbir, said some people identifying themselves as RAB members picked his son up on December 3.
Natore District unit Juba League also demanded exemplary punishment of those involved in the killing.
