Stocks continue to rise

Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) maintained the rising trend as the benchmark price index of DSE also remained 14-month high yesterday, reports BSS.
DSEX, the major price index of DSE, added 9.76 points at close to finish the day at 4846.09 which was the highest after October 1, 2015 when it closed at 4,856.96.
The DSES for Shariah-based companies and the DS30 for the blue-chip scrips also followed the same trend with marginal rise to end at 1152.19 and 1785.47 respectively.
The daily trade value fell to Tk 795.36 crore from Monday’s Tk 807.86 crore and the volume declined to 24.91 crore shares from 26.98 crore shares of the last session of the week.
Out of the day’s 323 issues, 146 closed higher against 128 losing securities. The day’s major gainers were HR Textile, Renwick JA, Daffodil Computers, Ghail and Dhaka Insurance.
The most losing securities included Savar EFR, BD Auto Car, SPCL, LR Global Bangladesh Mutual Fund One and EBL NRB Mutual Fund.
Ifad Autos topped the turnover list followed by BBS, BRAC Bank, Shasha Denims and Argon Denims.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) finished the session of the week upward with its major CASPI index closing high with 22.30 points at 14,921.98.
Out of the 252 issues traded on the CSE, 118 closed higher against 110 losing securities when 1.88 crore shares changed hands for Tk 60.08 crore.
The benchmark price index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) reached at 14-month high on Monday which drove the total value of the share to over Tk 800 crore. DSEX, the major price index of DSE, added 14.03 points at close to finish the day at 4836.33 which was higher after October 1, 2015 when it closed at 4,856.96 on Monday.
