Young Digital Entrepreneur Camp ends
A two-day social entrepreneurship camp ‘Young Digital Entrepreneur Camp 2016: Bangladesh Chapter’ ended on Saturday, says a press release.
The event was hosted by ‘Born To Smile, Madaripur-Hilfe e.V., School of Business, IUB, and Independent HR society from December 2 and 3.   YDE Camp 2016, which took place in Bangladesh, is the first of the three segmented mentoring scheme offered by Young Digital Entrepreneur (YDE). The YDE community and their supporters operate an incremental mentoring program which falls into three steps: YDE Camp, YDE Lab, and YDE Incubator.  Selected participants after an intensive mentoring programme on the first day were asked to improve and develop their startup or proposed initiative over the night and were required to pitch their ideas on the next day at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), in front of a panel of five. 
The judges were William Harry Derrenger, vice-chancellor, Canadian University of Bangladesh ; ANM Shibly Noman Khan, associate professor, School of Business, IUB; Muntasir Alam, CMO of Beximco Petroleum Limited; Naser Alam, head of Chambers, MNA Barristers & Advocates; and Zia Imran, managing director, ASIS.  The participants were scrutinized and were scored on the basis of their presentation. The winners will be announced by combining the marks obtained in Bangladesh with the verdict of another panel of judges in Germany. The top teams will be invited to Germany for further training and investment opportunities through the YDE Lab and the YDE Incubator. The Independent was one of the media partners of the event.

IU 'H' unit admission test result published
KUSHTIA: The result of admission test under Law and Shariyah Faculty ('H' unit) of Islamic University, Kushtia for 2016-17 session was published yesterday morning.
Unit coordinator Prof Nurun Nahar handed over the result to the university’s vice chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari around 9:30am. The result would be available on the university website at www.iu.ac.bd, she added.

Seminar on terrorism, counter terrorism held 
A daylong seminar on ‘Terrorism and Counter Terrorism: Bangladesh Perspective’ was held at National Defence College (NDC) at Mirpur cantonment in the capital on Monday.
Former Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General (retd)  M Nuruddin Khan addressed the seminar as the chief guest while Ambassador (retd) and President and CEO of Bangladesh Enterprise Institute (BEI) Farooq Sobhan was present as special guest, an Inter Service Public Relations(ISPR) release said.
Major General KM Abdur Rahman, director general of Bangladesh Institute of International & Strategic Studies (BIISS), acted the seminar as session chair while Lieutenant General Chowdhury Hasan Sarwardy, commandant of NDC, inaugurated it at the NDC auditorium this morning.
A total of 78 participants of National Defence Course-2016, which included 26 senior military officials from 12 friendly countries and 35 course members of Armed Forces War Course-2016, attended the seminar, the release said.
A nominated group of course members of Armed Forces War Course had presented well-researched keynote papers on ‘Terrorism and Counter Terrorism: Bangladesh Perspective’.
Brigadier General Shahedul Anam Khan (Retd), Director General of RAB Benazir Ahmed and Director of CTIB, DGFI Brigadier General Mohammad Towhid-ul-Islam had also presented their papers.
