Universal debate on money and
contributions

Human beings are supposed to be regarded as complicated entities by nature in the world. The mentality of persons mostly depends on the prospect of individual differences. The perceptions of a person are found completely different from others. Some persons are more concerned about their contributions for the society rather than money. But most of the persons believe fully in terms of anopposite aspect, having a concern on material gain, to the others. They are primarily concerned with earning more and more money in the case of their contributions. The term “contribution” was demonstrated in a different way by numerous personalities. Aung San Suu Kyisaid “Every thought, every word, and every action that adds to the positive and the wholesome is a contribution to peace. Each and every one of us is capable of making such a contribution.” Michael Bassey Johnson mentioned it as “Let your heart shine even more than your face. The beautiful contents of your heart can never be forgotten, but your face will be a history.” Even Engesland commented that “Great ambition and conquest without contribution is without significance. What will your contribution be? How will history remember you?” .Seth Adam Smith realized that “Always think about how you can contribute and never think of how you can receive a contribution.” In the opinion of DebasishMridha,“Life is revealed as a place to contribute and we as contributors. Not because we have done a measurable amount of good, but because that is the story we tell.”

Tina Fey, Bossypants expressed that “Every person has a longing to be significant, to make a contribution, to be a part of something noble and purposeful.”  “One of the most remarkable contributions of humans to the world is our capacity for ideas.”Eleanor Roosevelt noted that “When you cease to make a contribution, you begin to die.”
Obviously in this modern era,it is an undying truth that the people cannot ignore the necessity of the money. Can money motivate a person? What may be the answer of the question?  It’s really difficult to say. Nelson Mandela suggested that “Money won't create success, the freedom to make it will.”Benjamin Franklin understood that “Money has never made man happy, nor will it; there is nothing in its nature to produce happiness. The more of it one has, the more one wants.”Henry Ford explained that “A business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.”John Ruskin described that “Money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference.” A little thought and a little kindness are often worth more than a great deal of money. Jonathan Swift thought that “A wise man should have money in his head, but not in his heart.”Margaret Walker reported that “Friends and good manners will carry you where money won't go.”Douglas Adams summarized that “To give real service you must add something which cannot be bought or measured with money, and that is sincerity and integrity.”Henry Kravis assumed that “If you don't have integrity, you have nothing. You can't buy it. You can have all the money in the world, but if you are not a moral and ethical person, you really have nothing.” Mark Twain argued that“The lack of money is the root of all evil.”Oscar Wilde remarked as “When I was young I thought that money was the most important thing in life; now that I am old I know that it is. Money often costs too much. Eleanor Roosevelt commented that “He, who loses money, loses much; He, who loses a friend, loses much more; He, who loses faith, loses all.” –. Franklin D. Roosevelt declared that”Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort. Henry Ford advised that“If money is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man will have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.” P.T. Barnum recommended that‘Money is a terrible master but an excellent servant.” The person who has generated creative ideas and enjoyed work wholly at every moments of his life, in such case money is nothing to him. In fact, in agreement with “Life Cycle Theory” of Dr. Paul Hersey and Ken Blanchard, the maturity and development with time to learn his work clearly is the major issue for him for his personal growth. But the thinking of other persons may be different. Abraham Maslow’s need theory of hierarchy explained a point named as “Need for self-actualization” which indicates that the demand of a person is infinite in nature. All people are trying to achieve the ultimate or impossible goals which cannot be obtained ever. If you ask a famous old aged poet “what was your best poem in your life?” The answer can be “so far I have not yet to write my best poem and I am trying my best to write the historical one.” The answer may be the same at the last moment of life of this poet. The same thinking is exactly true for money. A rich person may have lot of money, when he is in the last stage of cancer, then his billion of dollar is meaningless. Even in his last moment, he can contribute differently by providing lot of money for cancer research. This is an example where a lot of money is not working as a survival of life of a cancer affected rich person.Alternatively this person can prove himself as a real contributor for next generation to create the path of the scientists for cancer treatment. Lance Armstrong is a record seven times winner of the Tour De France American biking champion;he was affected by the cancer at the age of 25 years. At the time ofdiagnosis with testicular cancer, it was already in its third stage. However, the doctors declared that he had the probability of survival of less than a forty percent. But Lance Armstrong never lost his self confidence about the life. The cancer had spread out his lungs but he has taken challenges to face the chemotherapy sessions in Indianapolis. After his treatment, his organization after his name, Lance Armstrong is the LIVESTRONG helps cancer patients put up a strong fight against the deadly disease. This is a case study of a person about his contributions to fight against cancer made him optimistic rather than money.   William Henry “Bill” Gates is one of the rich men of the world. His estimated wealth, some 65 billion measured in US dollars, equals the annual GDP of Ecuador, and maybe a bit more than that of Croatia.Bill Gates has contributed as an American computerprogrammer and entrepreneurwho founded Microsoft Corporation, the world’s biggest personal-computer software company. He wrote his first software program at the age of 13. In his high school level, hecontributed to form a group of programmers who computerized their school’s payroll system and madeTraf-O-Data, a company that sold traffic-counting systems to local governments. In 1975 Gates, then a sophomore at Harvard University, joined his hometown friend Paul G. Allen to develop software for the first microcomputers. They began by adapting BASIC, a popular programming. He is such a personality who has contributed his life for the betterment of the society. “I’m certainly well taken care of in terms of food and clothes,” he says, redundantly. Bill Gates mentioned that “Money has no utility to me beyond a certain point. Its utility is entirely in building an organization and getting the resources out to the poorest in the world.” Every child, he will say, has the right to a healthy and productive life, and he will explain how technology and innovation can help towards the attainment of that still-distant goal. Gates has put his money where his mouth is. He and his wife Melinda have so far donated $28 billion by their charitable foundation, more than $8 billion of it to improve global health. In this context, he is not remembered as a rich person of the world, he will be recognized as a real contributor of the world for his great contributions in information technology and welfare of the society. In recent few years, the new research has opened the window of creative ideas to correlate the relationship between what we earn and how we feel. Economists have been critically analyzing the connection between income and happiness across the world, and psychologists have studied individuals to find out what really makes us tick when it comes to cash. The outcomes, at immediate action, may seem a bit obvious: Yes, people with more incomes are, in board sense, happier than those who struggle to get by. But dig a little deeper into the findings, and they get a lot more surprising—and a lot more useful.Does Making More Money Really Increase Happiness? “How much money is enough?” Upcoming research on this theme suggests that, at least as far as wealthy people are concerned, having more money is essential to increasing happiness – but this assumption doesn’t pan out in practice. The research conducted by Harvard Professor Michael Norton, whose book, “Happy Money: The Science of Smarter Spending” explains the processof buying happiness using principles of smart spending.  The outcome of the researchsuggests that the predictionof people for earning more money leading to more happiness is simply wrong. In the opinion of Norton“Wealthy individuals–whether worth $1 million or $10 million–are not happier as their wealth increases,”. The reality is the habituation to more and more money may usually lead to experiencing less happiness. The main theme of this research is that happiness cannot be brought directly by money, but it’s a part of the equation. Sometimes the question may arise: “Does spending money on experiences yield more happiness than spending on things?” The answer from the latest volley of research study indicates, in general, investing money in experience will provide more happiness than buying more stuff. There are also researches to ask “Does Having More Money Make Us Enjoy Things Less?” This is the crucial question of insufficiency—if we have less, do the little things matter more? The question can also be connected in relation to how we think about in what extent or how little we have, since scarcity (just like wealth) is a relative phenomena. More to come on all of the above in future research, no doubt. The money may have little or more roles in the human life but the contributions cannot be compared with any other things. If money is properly be used from ethical point of view, it can make a man as an exceptional one. However contributions make the history, money makes the rich man. The history is infinite in nature and respect for contributions make a simple person as a part of the history of the world. And this is the universal truth.
