Stocks open week flat

Stock markets opened week flat yesterday as major indices finishing slightly down and daily transactions declining on cautious buying, reports BSS.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the opening session 0.73 points down at 4822.29 when the blue-chip DS30 followed it to finish flat 4.40 points down at 1783.29. 
The Shariah DSES was marginally up at 1149.55.
The daily trade value fell to Tk 733.40 crore from Thursday's Tk 803.45 crore and the volume declined to 22.76 crore shares from 24.87 crore shares of the week's closing session.
Out of the day's 322 issues, 126 closed higher against 139 losing securities.
The day's major gainers were Envoy Textile, Rahim Textile, Argon Denims Limited, Exim First Mutual Fund and Evince Textile. The most losing securities included National Tubes, Hakkani Pulp, Takaful Insurance, Sandhani Insurance and YPL.
BBS topped the turnover list followed by National Tubes, Lafarge Surma Cement, Ifad Autos, and Shasha Denims.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) began the week upward with its major CASPI index closing flat in green at 14854.81.
Out of the 243 issues traded on the CSE, 104 closed lower against 107 advancing securities when 1.65 crore shares changed hands for Taka 44.56 crore.
The major price index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) reached at about 14-month high on Thursday to finish a mixed week.
DSEX closed at 4823.02 with adding nearly 32 points over the week.  Accordingly, the blue-chip DS30 ended over 18 points up at 1787.69 and the Shariah DSES about 15 points higher at 1149.51 on the last trading day of the week.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 62.33 points higher at 14840.55.
