Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir yesterday underscored the need for maintaining transparency and integrity in banking sector to face the upcoming challenges and make the banking services more popular among the common people, reports BSS.
"Banking and financial sectors of the country are facing different challenges. The sectors are trying to ensure transparency and integrity," he said while addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural session of the two-day "Annual Banking Conference-2016" at Bangla-desh Institute of
Bank Management (BIBM) in the capital.
BIBM Director General Dr Toufic Ahmed Choudhury moderated the opening session of the conference.
Responding to a question on reserve heist, Kabir said BB did not take any decision on filling case with international court against the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Among others, BIBM Professor Dr Shah M Ahsan Habib, Dhaka University Business Studies Faculty Dean Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam and Bangladesh Bank Former Executive Director Yasin Ali were present on the occasion.
