State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid on Saturday urged the Sylhet Shahjalal University of Science and Technology to work in partnership with his ministry to create efficient human resources for the energy sector, reports UNB.
He made the call while speaking at the 12th founding anniversary of Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department of the university.
The junior minister said the country needs skilled and capable manpower to face the challenges of the future.
"It will be a matter of time to become a developed country if we're able to manage our own resources. Many works are done in the shortest possible time once competent manpower is developed," he told the function attended by the teachers, students and top officials in energy sector.

Mentioning that his ministry has arranged internship for 500 students, he invited the students to work under the internship programme. He also suggested that the students can take help from the newly established Bangladesh Energy and Power Council in carrying out their research works.
