Yunnan arrests or repatriates 85 Skynet fugitives

According to the China Discipline Inspection Daily, under the guidance of the Fugitive Repatriation and Asset Recovery Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Coordination Group, the Yunnan Provincial People’s Procuratorate successfully persuaded Zhang Dawei, a criminal suspect who fled to the United States, to surrender himself to China. Recently, news of his surrender —one of the 100 fugitives listed in an Interpol “red notice” —drew widespread public attention.

Since “Operation Skynet” was launched in 2015, Yunnan province has arrested or repatriated 85 fugitives, including 15 corrupt officials and CPC members who had previously fled to other countries. One of these was included on the 100-name Interpol “red notice”. Their captures led to the recovery of 84.52 million yuan in stolen assets.
