Locals demand arrest of killers

Local people staged demonstration at Mahendranagar in sadar upazila demanding immediate arrest and punishment of the culprits who killed Sramik League man Fakhrul Islam on June 27.
Fakhrul’s wife Nusrat Zahan and other family members also took part in the protest programme.
Fakhrul Islam Bullet, 30, Sramik League member of Mahendranagar union unit, was hacked to death by his rival on June 27.
Fakhrul was stabbed allegedly by Aminul Islam Khan at Mahendranagar Bazar in sadar upazila at night on June 27.
Later, he was taken to sadar hospital in critical condition where the
attending doctor declared him dead.
Fakhrul’s father Enamul Haque filed a murder case against Aminul Islam and 15 unnamed persons with Lalmonirhat sadar police station on June 28.
Police arrested a man namely Apel Khan of the area in this cconnection.
Officer-in-Charge of Lalmonirhat police station Mahafujur Rahaman said drive is on to nab the accused killer.
