Having Iftar with friends and family is like a festival in the month of Ramzan. Here in Bangladesh it has been practicing for many decades. Traditionally it has been observing with friends and family at home. But nowadays the practice is changing. Now people are having their Iftar in different types of restaurant and even five star hotels like The Westin Dhaka. The Westin Dhaka used to arrange Iftar followed by dinner buffet in the month of Ramzan every year. Where includes, traditional iftar like, semiyan kheer, sushi, soup tureen, several drinks items, chicken spring roll, chicken tikka, piyazu, beguni, aloo chop, vegetable singara, tempura prawns, haldi chilli fish, hariyali fish tikka and many more. But these are only for iftar. People will get varieties of buffet items for their dinner including Bangladeshi, Indian and even Arabic. These include, Haleem mutton, haleem chicken, nihari and accompaniments, beef tehri, mutton brain masala with boiled eggs. Also people will get sea food cannelloni, diced chicken in two pepper sauces, roasted leg of lamb with rosemary fondant potatoes, beef koftas filled with pine nut and feta and chilly garlic noodles. Manager, Marketing and Communication of The Westin Dhaka, Tanzimul Islam said, “Bangladeshi people are welcoming the food culture day by day. Now many people are having and enjoying their iftar and dinner here. We are getting good response from them as earlier. To serve them better comparing with the competitor in the market this year we are come up with 150 different items. And really we are getting good response.”
