Badsha, Nomani elected DRU president, GS

Sakhwat Hossain Badsha of the Daily Inqilab and Mursalin Nomani of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha have been elected president and general secretary respectively of Dhaka Reporters Unity.
The election results were announced on Wednesday evening. Results showed that Badsha, Special Correspondent of the Daily Inqilab, bagged 603 votes, while his nearest contestant of Mostak Hossain got 263 votes. Tofajjal Hossain of Ajkaler Khabar was elected joint secretary receiving 617 votes, while his rival Shahnaz Sharmin got 459 votes. Abu Darda Zobair became the Vice -president by bagging 593 votes.
Mohammad Jilani Milton of Naya Diganta became the organising secretary receiving 412 votes, while his rival Afzal Bari got 379 votes.
Sheikh Mahmud Riat was elected Training and Research Secretary bagging 559 votes, while his rival candidate Ahmed Riaz got 339 votes. Mojibar Rahman was elected Sports Secretary receiving 482 votes, while his rival candidate Aminul Islam Liton got 481 votes. The elected seven executive member are: Nurul Islam Hasib (670 votes), Habibur Rahman (578 votes), Saiful Islam (557 votes), Sakhawat Hossain Shumon (511 votes), Mainul Hasan Sohel (475 votes), Hafiz Al Asad Said Khan (442 votes) and Anisul Islam (369 votes).
