200 illegal gas lines disconnected

More than 200 illegal gas lines of different houses in Rajendrapur area of the city have been disconnected yesterday. Gazipur district administration and Titas gas authority jointly conducted a mobile court and disconnected those lines. 

Manager of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, Gazipur office engineer Sabber Ahmed Chowdhury, said a team of Titas  gas, Gazipur office with the help of Gazipur district administration conducted raid in Nayanpur, Rajendrapur cantonment Bazar and Fawgab road area of city yesterday morning as the part of illegal gas lines disconnection operation. They cut off the lines of more than 200 houses of the area. The team also seized about 3500 meters of pipe and other materials used in illegal gas lines from the spot.
However, no one was fined instantly. He said the operation against illegal gas lines will continue. 
Gazipur sadar upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Mohammed Ashraf Uddin, general manager of Gazipur Titas office SM Abdul Wadud, manager engineer Sabber Ahmed Chowdhury and Mohammed Jahangir Alam,deputy manager Sabiul Awal and Mohammed Khorshed Alam,assistant engineer Mirza Mohammed Mamunur Rahman, Mohammed Akheruzzaman  and Mohammed Abu Ayub, sub-assistant engineer Mohammed Rezaul Karim and senior officials of Gazipur Titas office and district administration were present during the operation. 
However, another mobile court, led by Gazipur sader upazila nirbahi officer Mohammed Ashraf Uddin, fined a departmental store Tk 10, 000 for selling date expired products and not showing the product’s price list in the store.
