Three killed in Tangail accidents

Three people were killed in separate accidents in Tangail yesterday.
In Basail upazila, two people were killed in a road accident on Dhaka-Tangail highway at Koratipara under Basail upazila early yesterday.
The deceased were identified Mamun Islam, 28, a truck driver, hailing from Horipur village in Jamalpur district and Anower Hossain, 50, a cloth trader and a resident of Duhariapara village in Munshiganj district.
SI of Gorai highway police Mozammel Haque said the accident took place at about 6.30 am when a cement-laden truck from the northern region hit another truck loaded with iron rods in the area, leaving the driver of the cement-laden truck Mamun and businessman Anwar, sitting beside him, dead on the spot.
The bodies were sent to Tangail Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
On the other hand, a woman was crushed under the wheels of a train in Solla area under Kalihati upazila. The deceased was identified as Mamtaj Begum, 40, of Gopinathpur village in Bhuapur upazila.
