Bangladesh women’s cricket team hit the new lowest score in T20 when they were bowled out for paltry 44 against Pakistan women’s cricket team in the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup yesterday.
At Asian Institute of Technology ground in Bangkok, Bangladesh decided to bat first after winning the toss but faced the unfortunate fate as they were shot out for the new lowest total in T20 cricket being bowled out for 44. The Tigress earlier struck the lowest total while they were bundled out for 54 against India in the opener of the six-nation T20 tournament.
Pakistan’s women at ease put on 45 for 1 in 9.5 overs, in response to Bangladesh’s women 44 for all-out.
In wake of the combine attack of pace and spin from Sana Mir and Aiman Anwer, Bangladesh batters could not make any gritty resistance as they were leaving the ground one after another. Only Rumana Ahmed and Jahanara Alam surpassed the doubled figure. Skipper Rumana made 11 and Jahanara was on 12 not out. Sana Mir grabbed three wickets for five in three overs and Aiman Anwer claimed two wickets for nine in four overs.
In reply, Pakistan women’s cricket team comfortably chased down the measly target as they played 9.5 overs to pull off their victory with nine wickets remaining intact.
Although Ayesha Jafar went back cheaply, Javeria Khan and Iram Javed breezed through the team home. Khan remained unbeaten on 26, while Javed on 17. Khadija Tul Kobra picked up the lone wicket for Bangladesh conceding 18 runs.
