Dhaka want to play last four as No1

Dhaka Dynamites opener Mehedi Maruf tipped BPL matches as competitive and said that they seek to go into the top-four as the number one team to get the optimum opportunity of playing in the summit clash.  

“Every match is now important in BPL. The result of all the matches is being changed. We are now on top but we have left two more games,” said Mehedi Maruf, who scored the third highest of 307 after Tamim Iqbal (351) and Mushfiqur Rahim (332).
“Our target is to go into the next round as the number one team so that we get the maximum benefit to play in the final. Because there is more benefits if we could be number one or two team,” Maruf told reporters at post-match briefing yesterday.
“We hope that each match will be competitive because we have seen that if a team wins today then they lose the next. So we are not taking any team lightly. But we expected the match will be competitive more,” he added. The right-handed batsman said that he senses a different feeling to open with West Indies batsman Evin Lewis.
“I enjoy the matter because I would open with Sangakkara in every match, where my score was more than him. I was habituated to that style. I used to thinking that I have to play in such way and Sangakkara will play in his way,” the 28-year-old lad said.
“But today it seems to me that someone is with me. I feel a bit better for it,” he also said.
The opener said that the pacers got benefit more than the spinners on today’s wicket.  
“Pacers got a bit edge on the wickets today. But I don’t know the reason why they got this advantage. I understood after playing that spin was coming to bat. Pacers are getting benefits as their cutters are gripping and bounces are getting high,” Tangail-born lad said.
“Last week we got idea from some matches that it is tough to put on 140-145 more runs on this wicket because wickets were a bit tough for batting. A string of matches is being held and so proper watering was not happened on wickets. But today it has been deemed that wicket is different. It has something on it because the match is being held on this wicket after a few days,” he also said.
“He is good in three departments. The confidence of all the players of the team has been extended getting the contact of this player,” Maruf said about Andre Russell.
