The Westin Dhaka with support from Aparajeyo Bangla (an organisation that provides shelter to homeless children and orphans) organised a special iftar event for the underprivileged children on July 4 in its grand ballroom. Tanzimul Islam the manager (marketing and communications) told this reporter that the hotel has always been very keen to carry out its social responsibilities. As part of this responsibility Westin hosted the iftar under its ‘Care for Community’ programme. The iftar event was followed by dinner for these children who are mostly orphans and homeless, Islam said.
The chief guest of the event was Mohammad Noor Ali, Managing Director of Unique Group. The chief guest expressed his thoughts on the wellbeing of the community and how The Westin, Dhaka always expressed its concern toward the society in constructive ways. The General Manager of the hotel, Daniel Muhor was also present in the event and he thanked all concerned for making the event a success.
In order to enhance the joy of the children Westin invited popular actors Ananta Jalil, Barsha Jalil and Tahsan Khan in the event. They all spent some quality time with the children. Ananta Jalil distributed gifts among the children of Aparajeyo Bangla.
More than one hundred children were invited to the iftar programme. While talking to this reporter a number of children said that Westin provided them with a memorable experience.
