Daughter, mother die in road crash

A woman and her daughter were killed and two other people injured in a collision between a truck and a pick-up van in Shikarikandi area of the district town yesterday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shefali Begum, 30 and her daughter Subarna, 2.
Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, said a speeding truck suddenly stopped in front of the pick up van after overtaking it in the area around 10am. 
The pick-up crushed against the backside of the truck as the driver lost control over its wheel, leaving the duo, both passengers of the pick-up van, dead on the spot.
