Heavy fine imposed on Sabbir, Al-Amin

The BPL Governing Council of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has imposed a penalty in the form of fines on Bangladesh National Team cricketers Al Amin Hossain and Sabbir Rahaman who are representing Barisal Bulls and Rajshahi Kings respectively in the ongoing fourth edition of Bangladesh Premier League.
A Governing Council investigation has found both players guilty of serious off-field disciplinary breaches during the current tournament. As a consequence, Al Amin has been penalised 50 percent of his BPL contract fees while Shabbir has been fined 30 percent of his BPL contract amount. Shabbir was placed in Grade ‘A+’ and Al Amin in Grade ‘A’ in the BPL player draft.  
The players have been reminded of their responsibility as national cricketers and have been warned that any repeat of similar acts of indiscretion in the future will result in harsher penalty. In this BPL, Rajshahi Kings contained Sabbir by Tk 40 lakh and Barisal Bulls got Al Amin Hossain by Tk 25 lakh. As a result, Sabbir will get Tk 28 lakh, while Al Amin will receive Tk 12.5 lakh.
Meanwhile, Rangpur Riders’ Mohammad Shahzad and all-rounder Liam Dawson along with Rajshahi Kings’ all-rounder Sabbir Rahman found guilty of breaching the BCB Code of Conduct during their BPL 2016 match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Mirpur on Monday.
Shahzad was found to have violated level-2 breaches and fined 30 percent of his match fees. This wicketkeeper-batsman got four (04) demerit points in the tournament that equate to a ban from two matches.
