BU Teachers Association gets new body
BARISAL: Md Abdul Kayum, assistant professor of Marketing, and Md Abu Zafar, assistant professor of Geology and Mine science department, were elected as president and secretary of Barisal University Teachers Association respectively.
The Kayum-zafar Panel got 13 out of 15 posts of executive body of BUTA. The BUTA election commission, led by Prof Subrata Kumar Das and along with Dhiren Kumar Roy and Rahat Hossain, on Monday declared the result of 15-member executive committee of BUTA for 2017 at the BU conference room. The other elected office-bearers of BUTA were as vice-president Fatematuz Zohora, joint-secretary Md. Mizanur Rahman, treasurer Md Lokman Hosen. Md Ilias Mahmud, Atikul Haque Farazi, Sardar Kaisar Ahmed, Md. Sirajis Sadik, Md. Masum Sikdar, Md. Sadekur Rahman, Israt Jahan Sanjari, Jotirmoy Biswas, Samiron Roy and ATM Rafikul Islam elected as executive members of BUTA in the election.
AIUB CS Fest 2016 held
American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organised a three-day event AIUB CS Fest 2016 at FST Building recently, says a press release.
The event was arranged by the AIUB the Computer Club under the guidance of the Department of Computer Science of AIUB. In the closing session of the event, a prize giving ceremony was held at AIUB Auditorium on November 24, 2016 where Vice-Chancellor Carmen Z Lamagna handed over the crest and certificates among the winners. On this occasion, Prof Tafazzal Hossain, vice-president, Academics and Dean, FSIT, Dean of Faculty of Engineering Prof ABM Siddique Hossain, Prof Tazul Islam, dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Registrar Prof MA Quaiyum, director of Faculty of Science and Information Technology Mashiour Rahman, Director of Student Affairs (OSA) Manzur H Khan and other faculty members of Computer Science department were accompanied with the Vice Chancellor. The event ended by a cultural programme organised by AIUB Computer Club (ACC).
