Minor girl burnt to death

NETRAKONA: A minor girl was burnt to death in a fire at her residence at East Atiar cluster village in Atpara upazila of the district yesterday afternoon, reports BSS.
Police and Fire Service and Civil Defence officials said the deceased was identified as Fatema Begum, 2, of the cluster village.
The fire originated from an electric short-circuit from a house of the village and soon engulfed the adjoining houses of the cluster village.
About 10 houses were gutted in the fire, Fire Service and Civil Defence officials said.
Being informed from local people, two separate teams of police and firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after two-hour of frantic efforts, said police.
Deputy Commissioner Musfiqur Rahman visited the fire affected area and handed over Tk 15,000 to the victims family for his burial.
Deputy Commissioner Musfiqur Rahmanalso handed over Tk 10,000 to the 10 fire affected families and assured them of all possible help for their rehabilitation.
