The Bangladesh Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BWCCI) received the 7th Local Chamber Award in big category in the Asia and Pacific region.
The Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) gave the award at its 30th conference, held during 23-25 November in Taipei of Taiwan, says a press release.
The BWCCI is an affiliated organisation of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI). BWCCI President Selima Ahmad received the award at the ceremony from Jemal Inaishvili, President of CACCI.
The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry was also awarded a certificate of appreciation for their commendable service.
Besides, Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Limited got Honourable Mention Award in the 2nd CACCI Hydropower and Clean Energy Excellence Award 2016 in the conference.
Selima Ahmad also chaired the Sectoral Roundtable Discussion at the two-day conference.
The CACCI organised the conference in cooperation with the Chinese International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) and the Chinese National Association of Industry and Commerce, Taiwan (CNAIC).
A 12-member business delegation of Bangladesh led by FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad attended at the conference.
CACCI is a regional organisation of apex national chambers of commerce and industry and business associations. It represents some 3.5 million business enterprises in Asia and the Pacific.
