The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC) yesterday stayed a High Court order that granted bail to Feni BNP leader Minar Chowdhury, a prime suspect in the case lodged over murder of Fulgazi upazila chairman and Awami League leader Ekramul Huq.
Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain of Appellate Division Chamber Judge court passed the order and sent the matter for hearing by a full bench on December 4, reports BSS.
The High Court (HC) on November 24 granted six months interim bail to Minar.
An appeal was lodged by the state against the order seeking stay on his bail. Today, the apex court stayed the bail order till December 4.
Ekram was gunned down inside his car in broad daylight on Academy Road, near Bilashi Cinema Hall, Feni on May 20 in 2014.
Later, his car along with its passenger was torched by the assailants.
