Attack on Santals protested

Members of Santal Students’ Union, Bangladesh, formed a human chain at Chowasta in Thakurgaon yesterday protesting the recent attacks on Santals. The protesters demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment to the attackers of Santals. They also urged the authorities concerned to form a judicial commission to probe into the incident. They urged the government to settle the issue and to allow the ethnic families to harvest paddy from their land. Besides, they demanded rehabilitation of the Santal families and compensation to the Santals as well.
