Four people were killed in separate road accidents in Tangail and Comilla yesterday. Our Tangail correspondent says: Two persons were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between two trucks on the Tangail-Mymensingh highway at Kadamtali in Ghatail upazila yesterday morning. The identities of the deceased could not be known. Officer-in-Charge of Ghatail Police Station Kamal Hossain said the accident occurred at about 11 am when a Tangail bound truck collided head-on with another truck, leaving one person dead on the spot and three others injured. The injured were sent to Tangail Medical College Hospital where another succumbed to his injuries. In Comilla: Two vegetable vendors were killed and another was injured as a covered van hit a pick-up van on Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Kalakachua area of Burichong upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB. The deceased were identified as Robin, of Aladinagar village and Firoz Miah, of Begumganj upazila in Noakhali. When the Dhaka-bound covered van hit the pick-up van it overturned on the road in the morning, leaving its two passengers dead on the spot and another injured, said Mahbubur Rahman, OC of Maynamati Police Station. Police seized the two vehicles.
