2 held with 11,500 yaba tablets
Department of Narcotic Control (DNC) on Tuesday morning arrested two suspected drug peddlers along with 11,500 contraband yaba tablets from the citys Turag and Uttara areas.
A DNC team raided house no-30, block-B at Baunia area under Turag police station and arrested one Md Rezaul, 27, along with 10,000 yaba tablets, an official said.
Later, they arrested Abdulla Shanto, 20 from in front of Sonargaon Filling Station at sector-9 under Uttara police station and seized 1,500 pieces of yaba tablets from his possession, he also said.
340 bottles of phensidyl recovered
RAJSHAHI: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members in a drive recovered 340 bottles of phensidyl syrup from Char Ashariadoho border area in Godagari upazila on Tuesday noon.
Commanding officer of BGB 37 battalion Subedar Selim Reza said on secret information a BGB team of Shahebnagar Border Camp conducted a drive at the house of Kalu at Char Ashariadoho village around 12 noon.
Mobile court fines 10 vessels
CHITTAGONG: A mobile court of Chittagong port in a drive in the estuary of Karnaphuli River Tuesday fined 10 vessels for plying in the river without legal documents, Bay crossing permit and overloading, reports BSS.
Authorized officer of Chittagong Port and Executive magistrates Mohammad Abul Hashem, conducted the mobile court at estuary of Karnaphuli River at 12 noon.
