The government has appointed Major General Kazi Sharif Kaikobad as the first resident High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria, a foreign ministry press release said in the capital yesterday, reports BSS.
Major General Kaikobad was commissioned in the Corps of Artillery on December 21, 1984.
In his career, he served as the Instructor of Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) and Artillery Centre and School.
He was Brigade Major and Assistant Adjutant General (AAG) at Army Headquarter. He commanded 3xBGB Battalion, 2x Artillery Regiment and 2x Artillery Brigade.
Kaikobad also served as Managing Director of Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory (BMTF) and two UN missions in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ethiopia- Eretria.
