A mobile court came under attack by a group of allegedland grabbers during a drive to evict them from East Port Colony area under Bandar Police Station of the city yesterday.
No one was reportedly injured in the attack; however the law enforcers lobbed tear shells to bring the situation under control, said Panna Lal Barua, sub-inspector of Bandar Police Station. He said the mobile court, led by Abul Hashem, executive magistrate of Chittagong Port Authority, in a drive was evicting illegal land grabbers from the area.
At the end of the drive, a group of land grabbers suddenly attacked the eviction team and started throwing stones, while the law enforcers fired four rounds of blank shots to bring the situation under control, Bandar Police Station sources said.
