Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) yesterday urged media workers to join a countrywide protest rally starting at 11am today demanding immediate declaration of the 9th wage board, reports UNB.
Journalists of print and electronic media will attend the protest rally in front of Jatiya Press Club (JPC) around 11am and hand over a memorandum to Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, according to a press release of BFUJ.
Journalists of other unions will hand over the memorandum to the divisional commissioner or district commissioner. Omar Faruk, president of BFUJ urged journalists to attend the rally.
Meanwhile, The Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) will submit a memorandum today to the Prime Minister through Divisional Commissioner of Chittagong demanding formation of the 9th wage board as part of the central program of BFUJ, in a procession from Chittagong Press Club premises, will submit the memorandum to the PM through the Divisional Commissioner.
