Bangladesh confirmed their final berth of the 5th Men’s Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) Cup crushing Singapore 8-0 in the first semifinal at the King’s Park Hockey Stadium in Hong Kong on Saturday, reports UNB.
Bangladesh will face the winner of the 2nd semifinal between Sri Lanka and host Hong Kong in the eight-nation meet at the same venue at 5pm (Bangladesh time) on Sunday.
Bangladesh scored two goals in the first half.
Milon Hossain fired the net first for Bangladesh scoring a field goal in the 26 minutes, and then Roman Sarkar added another field goal in the 29th minute.
Ashraful Islam struck two goals from penalty corners in the 66th and 69th minutes in the 2nd half, while captain Rassel Mahmud Jimmy, Puskor Khisa Mimo and Krishna Kumar Das scored one field goal each in the 37th, 50th and 55th minutes respectively. Mamunur Rahman Chayan scored a penalty corner goal 48minutes.
This is the 5th consecutive win for Bangladesh against Singapore in any level of international hockey event.
