34 Bangladeshi nationals held in Benapoole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 34 Bangladeshi nationals from Amrakhali area while they were entering the country on yesterday (friday) in Benapole.
The arrestees were 11 women, 5 children and 18 men, hailing from different parts of Satkhira, Pirojpur and Patuakhali districts.
Lieutenant Colonel Jahangir Hossain, Commanding officer of BGB-26, tipped off, said a team of the border guards conducted a drive in the area and arrested them while they were entering the country in the morning without valid documents.
Later, they were handed over to Benapole Port Police Station. A case was filed with Benapole Port Police Station in this connection.
Five unnatural deaths in Chandpur

Five unnatural deaths took place in separate incidents in a day in the district on Thursday.
The  deceased were identified as  Shamim Ahmed, 30, in Shahrasti, Munni Akter, 16, and Shahadat Gazi, 30, in Chandpur Sadar,   Asma Begum, 30, wife of expatriate Nazir Ahmed   of   South  Gojaria village in Faridganj upazila  and   Mannan Prodhan, 22, in  Khidirpur village of Matlab South upazila.
Of them, four committed suicide separately due to family feuds while only Shamim died in a road accident in the afternoon in Shahrasti Upazila.  
Adolescent girl violated in Jhenidah

Police arrested an alleged rapist for violating an adolescent girl in the town on Thursday evening.
The arrestee is identified as Rabbi, 23, a resident of Khajura village in Jhenaidah upazila.
The victim is now undergoing treatment at Jhenidah Sadar hospital in a critical condition.
Following a case filed by the victim’s brother, police arrested Rabbi for his alleged involvement in the incident.
Quoting family sources, Harendra Nath Sarker, officer in-charge of Jhenaidah Police Station said Rabbi, including two associates, forcibly picked up the girl while she was going to a neighbour’s house on Tuesday night.
Later the rapists left the girl in the locality threatening her not to disclose the matter to anyone, the OC added.
