Awareness meeting on disability, held in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ: A meeting on ‘Growing awareness on disability and media campaign’ was held at Daulatpur Girls High School on Thursday under the auspices of Disabled Rehabilitation and Research Association (DRRA), reports BSS.A M Naimur Rahman Durjoy, MP, Manikganj-1, was present in the function as the chief guest and it was presided over by Debesh Das, Representative of DRRA.
Upazila Chairman of Daulatpur Tozammel Huque Toja, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Shafiur Rahman, Secretary of Niketan, a Netherlands funded NGO Enoniate Thurmosweeden, Dalima Rahman,Project coordinator of DRRA among others, spoke on the occasion.The speakers urged the people to assist the disabled people to grow up them as working skilled person. The disabled are not the burden of the society and they may grow up as natural assets with the help of the people as well as the government, the speakers added.The meeting ended with a cultural function participated by the disabled persons.
