Rajshahi out to topple Khulna

Khulna Titans will compete against Rajshahi Kings in the day’s second match of the Dhaka phase at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) at 5:45pm today. Both Titans and Kings had back-to-back matches. And so, neither Khulna nor Kings appeared in the National Cricket Academy (NCA) yesterday.
This year Khulna Titans embarked on their BPL campaign beating Rajshahi Kings by three runs in a nail-biting affair. Thereafter, they had not looked back much as they won five matches out of their seven outings they had played till now. They had conceded defeat only to table-topper Rangpur Riders in both occasions. They were beaten by Riders by seven wickets in Chittagong phase following their comprehensive nine wickets in the first phase.
On the other hand, Rajshahi Kings so far played six matches in both slots, where they posted only three victories that they made beating star-studded Dhaka Dynamites. In the second meet, Kings stunned Dynamites by three wickets following their first meet by six wickets and in their first match of third phase Kings stunned Rangpur by 12 runs.  
After the conclusion of the second phase, Khulna Titans are languishing at second place on the point table with 10 points, while Rajshahi Kings averted the bottom place with four points. Kings’ condition would not be such if they would not lose a couple of close-match. They came back beating Dynamites following their shocking humiliation in the opener. They could not carry on the momentum due to their irresponsible batting from their senior players of the team what captain Darren Sammy told during the post-match briefing.
The team brought pace all-rounder James Franklin to bolster their batting and bowling line-up of the team ahead of their matches so that they could be bounced back in the competition race.
