Nights will be warmer

Special Correspondent

Nights will be warmer in the next three days, weathermen said yesterday (Thursday). A westerly disturbance may inject plenty of moisture into the air, which would mix with moisture from the Bay from an extended trough of a low over the north-east Bay of Bengal, offshoot of a seasonal low over the south Bay. This would raise the temperature.
Wednesday night was warm, which could also be felt yesterday afternoon, with stray clouds increasing the moisture. There will be a thin veil of mist in the morning and evening over river basins, wetlands and open spaces. The mist would pose problems for drivers of night coaches, heavy lorries and motorists.
Meteorologists said little rain was also expected. The lowest minimum temperature recorded in the country yesterday was 13 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Panchagarh in the north-west, followed by 13.6 degrees Celsius in Rajarhat of Kurigram.
