Bangladeshi film ‘My Bicycle’ is to be screened at the Phnom Penh International Film Festival in Cambodia, which has been scheduled to run from November 21 to 30. Celebrating cinema from all over the world the independent and non-competitive festival is showcasing 38 films this year, including 14 feature films. Showcased at many major international film festivals, ‘My Bicycle’ represents Bangladesh’s most marginalised population. Set in a typical peri-urban tribal village focusing on the struggle of a family to sustain its livelihood through a new trade--carrying passengers on a bicycle, “My Bicycle” is the first feature film to be made in an indigenous language in Bangladesh.
The film will also be screened at the Winnipeg Aboriginal Film Festival in Canada. Dedicated to showcasing the best new indigenous cinema from Canada and around the world, the festival is taking place from November 24 to 27 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
