Law Minister Anisul Huq yesterday said the government is going to enact a ‘religious minority protection law’, reports UNB. He came up with the announcement while talking to reporters at his Secretariat office. The move to formulate the new law came amid growing concerns over the recent attacks on Hindu people in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria district. The incidents sparked huge public outcry across the country. Meanwhile, a Bangladesh delegation, led by the law minister, will go to the Philippines on November 26 to discuss with the Philippine government the way to bring back the money which was stolen from Bangladesh Bank’s reserve account with New York Federal Bank in February last, Anisul said. Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir will also be there in the team.
