Dhaka Dynamites’ paceman Mohammad Shahid said that he is eying to break the record of the highest wicket-taker in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Kevon Cooper and Abu Haider Rony, who took 21 wickets each, jointly were the highest wicket-takers in BPL-3. In second edition, Elias Sunny and Mohammad Sami grabbed 17 wickets apiece to be highest wicket-takers. Alfonso Thomas was the highest wicket-taker, who bagged the highest 20 wickets in the first edition.
Shahid scalped so far 14 wickets off seven matches with an average of 12.92 after being showcased outstanding bowling performance. He is now in second place just after Chittagong Vikings Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi though they got the identical 14 wickets in their kitty.
The pace spearhead of Dynamites said that he has fixed his target in the middle of the BPL-4 of picking up 30 wickets.
“I have a target to pick up 25 to 30 wickets. Hopefully I could be able to snap up these wickets,” said Mohammad Shahid.
“I feel very good to bowl here in this big tournament in Bangladesh for what we eagerly wait for. Everything is keep going well,” Shahid said.
Narayanganj-born lad said that they have to perform better further to go up in the top of the point table.
“The next matches are very crucial for us to go into the top. So we want to play better more than the previous matches. Those bowlers who are in the team are good bowlers. I will try my best efforts for the team’s success,” right-handed pacer said after the practice session.
“All we are focusing on those areas, where we did mistakes, to develop our games not to repeat those mistakes,” he also said.
Dhaka Dynamites will begin their third phase campaign against Comilla Victorians on Saturday.
