Chittagong: At least 12 shops were gutted yesterday in a fire at city's Colonel hat, CDA residential area under Pahartali thana in Chittagong in the early hours of yesterday, reports BSS.
Fire service sources said the fire originated from an electric short circuit from a shop in the area around 3.15 am and it quickly engulfed the surrounding shops.
On information, three units of fire fighters rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control around 6.10 am. Valuables worth about Taka 15 lakh were gutted in the fire, fire service sources said. None was injured in the fire, the sources added.
