Another Ashulia fire victim dies at DMCH

Another woman who sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a match factory in Ashulia of Savar upazila on Tuesday died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Ruki, 25.
Ruki, who received 70 per cent burn injuries, died at the burn unit of the hospital around 10:00 am, said sub-inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police camp.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ankhi, who received 80 per cent burn injuries in the fire incident, died at the same hospital.
Thirty female workers sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a warehouse of ‘Colour Match BD’ at Jirabo Fulbagan in Ashulia around 4:30pm on Tuesday. Soon the fire engulfed the entire tin-roofed factory as there were huge flammable objects, including chemicals, at the factory.  On information, eight fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.
The firefighters along with locals rescued at least 30 injured female workers from the factory and took them to a nearby hospital.
Of them, 22 were later sent to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
