In a bid to play in the final of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup, Bangladesh women’s cricket team will fly for Bangkok, Thailand at 11:00am today.
In this six-nation tournament, Bangladesh will fight against its three Test opponents -India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka along with Nepal and the hosts Thailand.
Bangladesh led by Rumana Ahmed will start their Asia Cup campaign against defending champions India at the TerdThai Stadium on November 26.
Captain Rumana Ahmed said that if they could beat India in their opening clash it would then be easier for them to play in the final.
“We have improved a lot after the end of the ICC World T20 2016 and Ireland series. This time our main target to stun India,” said Rumana Ahmed yesterday.
“All the teams are stronger. There is no weak team in the meet.
If we could play better cricket and overwhelm India we could then be reached in final,” Ahmed told reporters after their formal photo session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
BCB women’s wing chairman Abdul Awal Chowdhury, the head coach David Capel and their team manager Athar Ali Khan also shared the same sentiment with the captain.
