Mehedi, Nabi lead batting, bowling

Mehedi Maruf of Dhaka Dynamites and Mohammad Nabi of Chittagong Vikings have been leading batting and bowling chart respectively at the end of second phase of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)- 4 which concluded in Chittagong on Tuesday. 

The third and last phase of BPL will resume tomorrow at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital. Two matches will take place on the day. Leaders Rangpur Riders will face Rajshahi Kings in the first match at 1.30 pm and in the evening match Barisal Bulls will encounter with Khulna Titans at 6.15pm. 
Dhaka opening batsman Mehdi Maruf topped the batting list with 244 runs with an average of 40.66. And again it was a Dhaka batsman Mosaddek who is leading the table average wise with an average of 66.66.  He just scored 200 in seven matches out of which he was not out in three innings. Two Afghan batsmen Mohammad Shahzad of Rangpur and Mohammad Nabi are two foreign players who could make room in the top 10 batting list.
Nabi and Mohammad Shahid of Dhaka are jointly highest wicket taker with each of them claiming 14 wickets. Since Nabi had a better economic rate of 6.14, he holds the top spot. Shahid’s economic rate is 7.19. Shafiul Islam of Khulna closely followed them with 13 wickets. Shahid Afridi of Rangpur, Junaid Khan of Khulna and Taskin Ahmed of Chittagong bagged 11 wickets each.
Mehedi Maruf and Sabbir Rahman of Rajshahi were the two batsmen who struck the highest number of over boundaries. Both of them hit 13 sixes each. And the only century in the current BPL came from Sabbir’s bat who scored 122 runs against Barisal.
But this time Bangladesh champion all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who is leading Dhaka Dynamites, could not live up to his reputation. He has scored just 93 runs in seven matches and took five wickets.
