Man to die for killing boy

MEHERPUR: A court yesterday convicted a man and sentenced him to death for killing an 11-year-old boy Iran in the district in 2011, reports BSS.
According to the prosecution, Ahmed Sharif Dipu, 29, abducted Iran on August 4, 2011 from Dhala village in Gangni upazila and killed him by slitting his throat in a jute field at night.
Being informed, police recovered his body on August 5. Jahangir Alam, uncle of Iran, filled a case with Gangni Police Station the next day.
After examining 38 witnesses, District Judge Rabiul Hassan handed down the punishment.Iran’s father and his two uncles had been murdered by criminals in 2008.
