At least 30 female workers suffered burn injuries in a fire that broke out at a match factory in Ashulia of Savar yesterday, reports UNB.
Quoting workers, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station Mohsinul Quader said the fire originated at a warehouse of ‘Colour Gas Match’ at Zerabo-Fulbagan around 3:30pm. Soon the fire engulfed the entire tin-roofed factory as there were huge flammable objects, including chemicals, at the factory.
On information, six fire-fighting units rushed in and brought the fire under control around 6:30 pm. The fire brigades along with locals rescued at least 30 injured workers, including 10 females, from the factory and took them to a nearby hospital. Of them, 25 were later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
