BU entry tests results published 
BARISAL: The Barisal University authorities have published the results of admission tests for the first year honours course for 2016-17 academic session with 23 per cent pass rate.
Prof SM Imamul Huq, vice-chancellor of BU, at a press conference at BU conference room on Monday afternoon declared the result through online.
He informed that 13.6 per cent admission seekers have passed the tests of 'Ka' unit, 25.5 in 'Kha' unit and 29.9 per cent of 'Ga' unit tests which were held on November 18 and 19. Detailed information regarding the results is available on BU website -- http:// admission. eis. Bu.ac.bd and the successful candidates have been asked to complete admission formalities from December 13 to 20, 2016. Classes of the newly admitted students would be started from January 15, 2017, the VC of BU told. Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Dhaka University vice-chancellor, attended the intake result publishing ceremony through video conference. Teachers, officials of BU, journalists of print and electronic media attended the press conference. 

Collegiate programming contest held
The two-day ACM-International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC) was concluded at University of Asia Pacific (UAP) in the capital on Sathrday.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), UAP organised the Regional Final ICPC titled ‘2016 ACM-ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest’.
 The first three champions--BUET Rayo, BUET Omnitrix, DU_Censored-- won positions and awarded trophy and money while CUET GirlsarePearl has been awarded as the Top Girls Team. Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith addressed the closing session as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners. State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, and UAP's Board of Trustees Chairman Qayum Reza Chowdhury, addressed as special guests. The 2017 World Finals will be held in Rapid City, South Dakota on May 20-25, 2017, hosted by Excellence in Computer Programming, Inc. The highest ranked 3 to 4 teams from ACM-ICPC Asia Dhaka Regional Contest 2016 are likely to get chance to attend the World Finals. Professor Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission inaugurated the contest as the chief guest.
