JS body for installing luggage scanners at rly stations

The meeting discussed recruiting manpower against vacant railway posts

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Railways Ministry on Tuesday recommended installing luggage scanners at important railway stations, including Dhaka and Chittagong, reports UNB.
The committee made the recommendation in its 27th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with its chairman ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury in the chair. The meeting discussed the latest situation of recruiting manpower against vacant posts in Bangladesh Railway, steps against illegal occupants of railway land and the progress of various development projects.
The meeting also suggested mentioning travellers’ names on the rail tickets to check irregularities. 
Railway reclaimed 186.79 acres of land from illegal encroachment in the last fiscal year, 2015-16, according to the meeting.
