Six journalists in print, electronic and online have received the PIB-a2i Mass Media Award 2015, reports BSS.
Introduced jointly by the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) and Access to Information (a2i) Programme under Prime Minister's Office, the awards have been given in five categories, said a PIB press release.
Emdadul Haq Tuhin of the Daily Janakantha has won award in the national newspaper category, Plaban Sarker of SATV in television, Md Shahjahan Ali of the Daily Satmatha in regional newspaper, Mahfujul Islam of Bangladesh Betar and Shahnaj Sharmin of ABC Radio and Rafiqul Islam of banglanews24.com has won the award in online newspaper category.
Information minister Hasanul Haq Inu will hand over the awards at a programme to be held on July 6 at the PIB. Each winner will get Tk 75,000, a crest and a certificate.
Editor of the Daily Somokal Golam Sarwar, Pro-VC of Daffodil University Prof Dr Golam Rahman, Prime Minister's personal secretary-1 Sajjadul Hasan will attend the programme as special guest. CEO and Chief Editor of Baishakhi TV Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul will also address it.
