Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday expressed profound shock at the loss of lives in a train accident in India, reports UNB. “I’m deeply shocked and saddened at the tragic deaths of so many people in a train accident in Uttar Pradesh in India,” PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim quoted the Prime Minister as saying. “On behalf of the government and the people of Bangladesh, I express my deepest condolences ... our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families,” Sheikh Hasina added. She also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and wished early recovery of the injured. The train derailed in northern Uttar Pradesh early yesterday, killing at least 91 people and injuring scores more, Indian media said quoting railway officials.
