Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate drives arrested two women suspected of selling drugs and seized 1, 254 yaba tablets, heroin from their possessions in the capital on Monday. The arrestees were identified as Omiron Begum, 55, and Pinki Akter, 25. Talking to The Independent yesterday afternoon, RAB-2 Director Lt Col SM Masud Rana said getting secret information, a team of RAB raided Karwan Bazar railway slum around 10:35pm on Sunday. Later, RAB seized 1,254 yaba tablets and 500 gram hemp from Omiron Begum’s possession. In another drive, RAB arrested Pinki and seized 100 small packets of heroin and 150 gram hemp from her possession at Karwan Bazar around 11pm. Two separate cases were filed and the arrested were handed over to the police.
