Robi pays Tk 318.52cr first installment

Robi has paid Tk 318.52 crore as part of Robi-Airtel merger fee to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) yesterday. 

Managing Director and CEO of Robi Mahtab Uddin Ahmed handed over the cheque to Chairman of BTRC Dr Shahjahan Mahmood. Former CEO and MD of Airtel, P D Sharma was also present on the occasion.
Chairman of BTRC said, “We received, one portion of Robi-Airtel merger fee. We hope, Robi will serve their subscribers even better in the future”        
Earlier, at the 200th commission meeting, Robi was given three-installment facilities to provide the entire merger fee of Tk 507 crore by BTRC.  Mobile phone operator Robi has been asked to pay the merger fee and merged spectrum price for Robi-Airtel merger in three installments although the operator sought four installments.
