Reunion of ULAB Alumni held
University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) celebrated reunion titled ‘ULAB Alumni Homecoming 2016’ on ULAB campus at Mohammadpur in the capital on Friday, says a press release.
It was a reunion of the former students of ULAB with a twist of Cricket Festival. Alumni also enjoyed the festival by releasing fanush (paper lanterns). During the programme an abrupt ‘Flash mob’ presented by the current students of ULAB which made everyone surprised. The programme was organised by the ULAB Career Services Office. Professor Imran Rahman, university vice-chancellor (acting), delivered his inaugural speech. He said ULAB prosperity the alumni of ULAB played a vital role. Abu Hena Md Rasel, director of ULAB Career Services Office, delivered closing statement. He invited everyone to the upcoming Carrer Fair 2016 which is supposes held on December 10, 2016. In the alumni homecoming ceremony ULAB Pro Vice Chancellor Professor HM Jahirul Haque, Treasurer Professor Milan Kumar Bhattacharjee, Registrar Prof Akhtar Ahmed were also present along with the faculty members and admin members of ULAB.
Admission open house begins at EU
The Admission Open House for Spring 2017 Semester of Eastern University (EU) started on the university premises on Saturrday, says a press release,
Mohammed Ali Azzam, Member of BoT, EU inaugurated the programme in presence of Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Vice-chancellor; Prof Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Pro-Vice- chancellor; treasurer; deans; registrar; chairpersons; director, admission; teachers; officials and students of EU. The Admission Open House will continue to 21, 2016 from 9am to 6pm every day. Students seeking admission in Spring Semester 2017 will enjoy 50per cent discount on admission fee and 10per cent-100per cent discount on tuition fee for meritorious students. Attractive gift will be given during the event.During the fair, admission test of bachelor programmes will be held every day. Direct admission opportunity for combined CGPA 7 and above.
IUB engineering students honoured
Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) recently awarded 40 engineering students for their contributions in research and outstanding achievements in various competitions, says a press release.
The award giving ceremony was held on the university campus in the capital. Vice- chancellor (VC) Prof M Omar Rahman was the chief guest at the event organised by the School of Engineering and Computer Science (SECS). The VC congratulated the students on their achievements, and emphasized on the importance of research at universities.
IUB students have won First prize at NASA Space Apps Challenge 2015, Runners up position at NASA Space Apps Challenge 2016, Best flight award in RC Aircraft competition 2016 in India, First position in
Ornithopter competition 2015 in India, Second runner Up position (rotary wing category) in the National Aero designing competition and exhibition 2014, first position in the Rotary wing category in IUB
Aero fest 2015, First prize at National project competition on Green Energy & Technology 2016, First prize in Inter-university Teleco Warfare 2015, and awards at Inter University Innovation competition: National Electricity week.
